If you don't like the gas crisis, do something!

Thumbsup It is interesting how something so big and ominous as getting off the dependency of foreign oil can be taken down to one person's indomitable will to be a catalyst for change. Until I met Joshua Peace Seeker, I thought solving our dependency on foreign oil was something that even the major car manufacturers just couldn't solve overnight. I beg to differ with that reasoning. Here is an example.

I first met Joshua Peace Seeker at our 24seven Conversations forums at the Global Dialogue Center. He starting posting regularly on the conversations stirred by John Perkins' bestselling expose, CONFESSIONS OF A ECONOMIC HIT MAN (Berrett-Koehler). Nearly 15,000 people from over 30 countries have shown up stirred by the revelations that John Perkins has shared to "connect the dots" for the rest of us. Joshua Peace Seeker's posts stood out. They each had a telling call-to-action ----- DO SOMETHING! Even if it is a small step in the right direction. Joshua started posting wonderful ideas about what he was doing. Small actions that were simple yet set an example for others. They gave people ideas of how they too could begin the process of making this world a more loving, sustainable, healthy, environmentally conscious, generous world for all people. To help give more visibility to the inspiring ideas, Joshua Peace Seeker agreed to lead a dialogue at Socrates Hall at the Global Dialogue Center. It is one of the World Vision Dialogues focused on WHAT YOU CAN DO?

DEPENDENT ON FOREIGN OIL? No More!
In a recent
message posted by Joshua Peace Seeker, he wrote:

"We bought a diesel automobile this week.  A 2002 VW Bug.  We are converting it to run on used veggie oil.  I work with a group that collects the oil from local restaurants and filters it.  The whole conversion takes less than $500.00 and we are free from the oil industry.  At least a little :)"

Today, I received a message from Joshua saying the conversion worked and that he was now running his VW completely on recycled veggie oil !!! No more dependence on foreign oil to drive his car!

If you can't think of any way to change the world yourself, visit Joshua Peace Seeker often and he'll help you figure it out by his example and his array of brilliant ideas. "The journey of a thousand miles begins at our feet." Lao Tze ---------- Joshua Peace Seeker proves it doesn't take a thousand miles to get started.

What about you????
What are you doing to change the world???
