We came to be heard
We came as equals
WE CAME TO THE HABITAT JAM
Great firsts in history start with an idea and belief in the unseen. Sometimes they are witnessed. Sometimes they go unnoticed. Always they cross a threshold, opening the way for more innovation to follow. We are proud to present this commemorative visual, self-learning exhibit, celebrating three days in history, when the people of the world came together in an unprecedented online dialogue for the 1st TIME.
This first, began with the compelling vision of Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, Under-Secretary-General, United Nations and Executive Director, UN Habitat. She brought with her a new vision for UN HABITAT that included bringing citizens around the world into the dialogue to set the agenda for the important work of the United Nations HABITAT. This new thinking became a catalyst for bringing 39,000 people of the world together in dialogue for three days, crossing a new threshold in communication among people --- and breakthrough through barriers --- and reserving a seat and opportunity to contribute for everyone.
Mrs. Tibaijuka, serves as a remarkable role model for all of us. The world needs our new thinking and courage to open the way for a more generous, inclusive world for all its citizens.
How are you bringing your new thinking to the world?
I hope you share you thoughts ... I would love to know what you think of the exhibit too!
