“Every tree is a living watercourse; its roots, trunk and branches conduct water up from the soil to the leaves, from which it then passes into the atmosphere.”
The Celtic Spirit, Caitlin Matthews
Trees in the Celtic tradition have always been seen as sacred lifegivers. I remember growing up in our Irish family and being taught to have great reverence for trees and all that grows from the earth. Imagine the earth barren, without trees. For most I believe this brings a feeling of sadness. What will it take for us to collectively understand that our own life source is connected to nature around us.
I don’t think I’d consider myself a tree hugger but I would surely consider myself a person who has true reverence for the earth and all of it’s green glory.
How can you take better care of this great planet that supports your life?
