Have you ever considered the positive power of doubt and indecision. Today I ran across a little book that came with Oprah Magazine a long time ago now --- it has a collection of the best of her "WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE" columns. I opened it at random as I often do with books to see what would emerge and it was just what I needed. A timely reminder!
She was relating a powerful lesson she has learned about turning to her gut for guidance on what to do---asking -- What do I really want? --- and what is my spirit telling me is the best way to proceed?" She describes it as that "inkling that says, Hold on. Something's not right here. Please pause and make an adjustment."
Oprah goes on to say, "For me doubt often means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward. When I'm mired in confusion about what the next step should be, when I'm asked to do something for which I feel little enthusiasm, that's my sign to just stop---to get still until my instincts give me the go-ahead. I believe that uncertainty is realy my spirit's way of whispering, I'm in flux. I can't decide for you. Something is off-balance here."
Oh, I know this feeling, don't you? What I too have learned over time is to just wait a bit. Let any troubled decision go for a bit --- even if it is just a few hours --- when I listen to my heart and stay quiet enough to hear it, the right decision surfaces.
How about you?
Have you honored the power of doubt and indecision lately?
