I love renewal of the heart. Another round of polishing is good for the soul. The poetry of Rumi encouraged me in this process long ago:
"...What a shame you have no familiarity with inner silence. Polish your heart for a day or two: make that mirror your book of contemplation." --- Rumi
This time of year is such a great time to begin taking stalk of where you are, what you've learned, and where you are heading. Regrouping with what's real and meaningful. Re-evaluating. It always seems by summer, our desks are full, our lives are getting cluttered up again, the calendar is filling up with busy-ness with this and that, and perhaps The Focus we need most is a big blur, unintentionally put aside for another day or time. We've learned before that we can always start again...get all things in proper perspective, work to strengthen our Faith, and go after our best life ... our highest calling.
As women, I think we easily dismiss our worth...our potential...our capacity...our ability for cultivating our Gifts for good. The strongest of women don't necessarily share these truths out loud. Regardless of our achievements, somehow, our confidence reaches periods where it soars then crashes --- waxes then wanes. In times like these, we can rise up in Faith. Inspiration of other women, past and present can serve as a mirror to see our true selves anew. Their wisdom seems to show up unexpectedly to tap us on the shoulder, reminding us what we each bring is a unique expression. Ours cannot be brought to the world by anyone else but us.
Although I am a dancer of a different kind, the wisdom below from Martha Graham has always been meaningful for me.
Can you see yourself in it?
"There is vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action. And because there is only one YOU in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium...the world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open."
--- Martha Graham

Have you claimed your own unique expression?
What contribution will you make that no else can make?
Best...
